A formal debate between visiting Senator Roger Lowe and community figure Doctor Jean Grey will be broadcast live at 6 p.m. on all the major news networks. It will be rebroadcast at 10 p.m. and continually on the local stations after 6 p.m. and all tomorrow as well. The topic of the debate will the contreversial and explosive issue of mutant registration.

Political analysts are divided on their projected consequences of the debate. "Doctor Grey's arguments," says one Ulgard Hansol, "are certainly well thought out, but if she were running for president, she wouldn't get past the first primary. Her ideals are strong and her logic makes sense in a certain realm of thought, but she's too far left. Voters are alienated by this sort of passion for a very small minority -- I personally felt that Dr. Grey didn't care much about what happened to the majority as long as the minority received their dues."

"Senator Lowe," says one Samuel Johnson, "has made progress. I was surprised and pleased that he was as frank as he was. I've felt that the Senator's campaign has an intense amount of potential, but he's been too tentative in the past. It's about time he stopped worrying about offending the most radical of the liberals and addressed the enormity of the mutant problem."

"I believe," says one Janis Yeats, "that if the voter swings toward the narrow-minded and secretive fascist hate that Senator Lowe represents, I've been seeing America through very /thick/ rose colored glasses all along."
